Animal Attraction
Set animal traps litter the floor. Each sugar-coated trap has a golden square of Godiva chocolate resting on its spring plate. Sugar pours out of funnels hanging from the ceiling onto the traps below. A video oscillates on the wall spying on a crowd of men and women crossing the street while audio from an educational film on human reproduction plays. Animal Attraction explores humans physiological and psychological desire to mate. What drives humans to seek out a mate despite the threat of pain? Is it purely instinctual? How far have we really evolved from our animal ancestors?
